Kokoro
Experience the uplifting power of sound and rhythm with “Ko Ko Ro (Heart-Mind-Spirit).” This modern jazz quartet, led by Trumpet/Shakuhachi Composer Aaron Ryuko Shragge, draws on influences from North Indian Raga and Japanese Honkyoku to Kenny Wheeler and Tom Waits.
Morley
Morley Shanti Kamen is a jazz minded pop chanteuse who reflects her multi-cultural background - the sights, scents and sounds of Jamaica Queens - in her music and charismatic stage presence.
Kazim Ali
Kazim Ali has written a book of poetry The Far Mosque and a novel, Quinn's Passage. A longtime friend of the Village Zendo sangha, he is assistant professor of English at Shippensburg University and teaches in the low-residency MFA program of the University of Southern Maine.
Ian Koebner
Poet and director of Sacred Slam, an organization dedicated to challenging misconceptions through the arts. Begun on the anniversary of September 11th with a night of Interfaith dialogue through poetry in lower Manhattan, its goal is the “ecumenical recognition of everyone’s path to the Divine.” (Abd al-Hayy)
