What is Zen?
An Introductory Workshop
With Roshi Pat Enkyo O'Hara
& Village Zendo Senior Students
November 4-5, 2006
Saturday 10:00am – 5:00pm
Sunday, 9:00 am – 12:00pm
This experiential introduction to Zen practice is ideal for newcomers and anyone wanting to investigate basic facets of Zen and its relevance in our daily lives and in the contemporary world.
The workshop will address such issues as the beginning stages of spiritual practice, the teacher-student relationship and the role of community (sangha). Instruction in meditation (zazen) and other forms of practice at the Village Zendo will be given. There will also be ample opportunity for questions and discussion with Roshi Enkyo O’Hara and senior students.
On Sunday, workshop participants join the sangha for our regular program that includes a chanting service, meditation and a talk. Participants will also have the opportunity to have a personal interview with Roshi.
$75, Pre-registration required.
